San Diego-San Francisco Free-for-All Gets 8-Game Suspensions Saturday, August 27th , 2107 Tempers were flaring yesterday at AT&T Park. Both the Padres and Giants were defending their turf. A few punches were thrown, but fortunately very few landed -- there was more wrestling than fighting. When the umpires sorted everything out, San Diego's Mike McNamara and San Francisco's Matt Barnes were ejected from the game. Today the league office suspended McNamara and Barnes for 8 games each. Looking at his season stats, McNamara has compiled a .259 batting average and a .338 on-base percentage, while hitting 17 home runs and driving in 67 runs. To date this year, Barnes has compiled a 3-14 mark with a 5.41 ERA in 24 starts. |
