Guardians Halt Carpenter Hit Streak
Tuesday, September 4th , 2108
The Minnesota Twins lost to the Cleveland Guardians, 7-3, at Progressive Field, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Nate Carpenter's 21-game hitting streak. The second baseman went 0-for-4 on the day.
"We felt if we could slow down Carpenter, we would win the game," Guardians manager Danny Jaime explained. "They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down."
This season, Carpenter is batting .318 with 88 hits, 9 home runs, 46 RBIs, .385 OBP and has scored 52 runs.
