Washington-Houston Brawl, English and Walls Suspended

After an intense confrontation, both the Nationals Jesse English and the Astros Xavier Walls were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Washington-Houston game. Jesse English will miss 2 games, while Xavier Walls was suspended for 6 games.

"Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Jesse English commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play."

This season, English is batting .271 with 21 home runs.

On the season, Walls has compiled a 7-14 mark with a 5.47 ERA in 30 starts. In pitching 156.1 innings he has 134 strikeouts and 53 walks while limiting the opposition to a .278 batting average.
