Pirates Samsa Suspended Monday, October 6th , 2098 Phil Samsa, third baseman for the Pittsburgh Pirates, will be getting a few days off the hard way -- a 2-game suspension for aggressively arguing with an umpire in a recent game with Los Angeles. After being called out on strikes, Samsa stood toe-to-toe with the home plate umpire and hotly contested the call. Apparently he got too close to the arbiter and was ejected from the game, allegedly making contact with the bill of his cap. "I don't remember billing him. I don't remember doing that," Samsa told BNN today. So far this year Samsa is batting .244 with 1 home run, 1 RBIs and 6 runs scored. |
