No Late-Season Magic Coming: Philadelphia Out of Playoffs Thursday, October 9th , 2098 It's a better-luck-next-year situation for the Philadelphia Phillies, as the club today became mathematically eliminated from postseason consideration. Team manager John Lucidi said, "It's always a letdown" to miss the playoffs, but added that the club's effort was appreciated. Philadelphia last appeared in the postseason in 2091. This is their 7th consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 167 times in their 216-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Phillies have only made the playoffs once. Philadelphia has won the World Series 6 times in their history. |
