Rockies Advance to World Series Sunday, November 2nd , 2098 Colorado catcher Kosuke Sakai couldn't hide his reaction when asked about being named MVP of the Championship Series. "It's a nice honor," he said, failing to suppress a wide smile. The trophy was presented to Sakai moments after his club eliminated the San Diego Padres to advance to the World Series. Colorado won the final game by a score of 6-5 at Colorado Field and took the series 4-2. "We won the series and that's the main thing," Sakai said. "They were a tough team and we didn't want to take anything for granted." For the series, Sakai hit .240 with a .296 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 4 runs. "He was tough to stop and that's a big reason they're there and we're here," said a dejected San Diego manager Tim Lentz.
