Best NL Reliever Named
Sunday, November 23rd , 2098
Mike Yates of the Cincinnati Reds has been named the winner of the 2098 National League Rolaids Relief Man Award.

The award comes at an opportune time too, as the 36-year-old is an impending free agent.

"You always hope to have this type of year every year, but it's pretty special to have it before I go to free agency, if that happens," he said.

On the year, the relief ace had a 2.16 ERA over 141.2 innings of work. He made 94 relief appearances and had 21 saves, 139 strikeouts, 30 walks and a record of 11-6. Opponent batters hit only .226 against him.

He received 29 first place votes out of a possible 30. Mario Gomez of the Chicago Cubs finished second in voting, while Dana House of the Pittsburgh Pirates finished third.
