Kansas City, San Diego Finalize Trade Tuesday, November 23rd , 2106 The Kansas City Royals announced a deal with the Padres today, sending a 6th round draft pick to San Diego for 28-year old C Kamatari Kawakami. It had been talked about for the past few weeks and everything came together late last night. All players are expected to be joining their respective clubs shortly. Kawakami is batting .270 with 308 career base hits, including 54 doubles, 1 triple and 39 home runs with 157 RBIs and 133 runs scored. He has played in 319 games, stolen 2 bases and compiled a .294 OBP. |
