Kansas City Celebrates Wild Card Win Monday, October 3rd , 2107 It was no easy task for the Kansas City Royals to capture a wild card spot, but the team's players can now breathe easy, knowing they will be a part of the Major League Baseball postseason. "They made us work for it. There aren't many easy games in the American League," said starting pitcher Mike Mask. "We would have liked to have won our way into the playoffs sooner, but we'll take it."
