Mendez Hits for Cycle Against Minnesota

Ezequiel Mendez roughed up Minnesota Twins pitching in a big way at Target Field today, leading the Cincinnati to a 9-3 win.
With his parents and family watching from the stands, the 22-year-old center fielder put on a magnificent show, hitting for the cycle -- collecting a single, double, triple and home run in the same game.
"It was a good day for that to happen," a beaming Mendez said after the game. "I really got some good looks and delivered. Sometimes you're just on."
He finished his historic day with 4 hits in 5 at-bats, 4 runs batted in and 3 runs scored.
Ezequiel Mendez tripled in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, struck out in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Manny Leyva in the 8th.
This season Mendez has hit at a .263 clip with 23 RBIs, 2 home runs and 31 runs scored. He has played in 47 games.
