But he'll certainly be getting a lot more respect now, as the Chicago White Sox rising star has won the American League Liu-chun Cui Reliever of the Year Award for 2107. He captured the award on the strength of his 2.31 ERA over 105 innings. He also had 35 saves in 78 relief appearances, 119 strikeouts and only 22 walks. He received 23 first place votes out of a possible 30. Jeff Hank of the Houston Astros finished second in voting with 7 first place votes, while Adrian Tipton of the Minnesota Twins finished third.
