The 24-year-old Los Angeles left fielder played in 140 games, hitting .288 with 21 home runs, 53 RBIs and scoring 79 runs.
He received 12 first place votes out of a possible 30. Gary Arbogast of the Cincinnati Reds finished second in voting with 7 first place votes, while Jesse Wheaton of the San Diego Padres finished third with 6 first place votes.
