That the way one BNN writer described the rookie first baseman for Texas in the article announcing him as the American League Rookie of the Year Award recipient. Tristan Quinteros came on the scene this year and quickly established himself as player to be reckoned with.

The 27-year-old Rangers newcomer took the trophy by hitting .303 in 151 games this season and finished with 178 hits, 36 home runs, 115 RBIs and 106 runs scored.

Jay Elrod of the Texas Rangers finished second in voting, while Adam Akin of the Oakland Athletics finished third.
