C Samples Commits to 1-Year Cubs Offer Sunday, December 26th , 2106 Chicago fans were pleased with the signing of Joe Samples today. The 28-year-old inked a 1-year, $4,000,000 deal with the Cubs. Though his numbers don't jump out at you, Samples does fill a void for Chicago, according to several respected analysts. In his 501-game career Samples is batting .246 with 78 doubles, 5 triples, 47 home runs and 219 RBIs. He has stolen 9 bases and scored 209 times. |
