Houston Hurler Wins AL Cy Young Award Thursday, November 15th, 2063 The Houston Astros have a rising superstar or maybe even a budding Hall-of-Famer in the making. It's Javier Covarrubias, this year's American League Cy Young Award selection. This blossoming hurler wowed fans, peers and sportswriters with a fabulous performance. Covarrubias compiled a 22-4 record in 31 starts, tallied 323 strikeouts in 210 innings and recorded a 2.14 ERA. Other clubs managed only a .163 batting average against him. Chris Flores of the Tampa Bay Rays finished second in voting, while Asher Robert of the Kansas City Royals finished third. |
