Rule 5 Draft is Today - GM's Look for Unprotected and Undervalued
Thursday, December 6th, 2063
Clubs will be eyeing the draft pool for any undervalued talent in today's annual Rule 5 draft.
Often one of the most overlooked aspects of baseball's off season, the draft has special rules for eligibility. If a player has played for four or more years for an organization and was signed at age 19 or older, he is eligible. Similarly, if he has played five years and was signed at age 18 or younger, he is also eligible. The final rule of eligibility is that the player must not currently be on a team's Secondary Roster.

Toronto Blue Jays Owner, Conlan, wasn't sure if his team would be taking anyone in today's draft. "I leave that kind of thing up to my GM and Manager. That being said, I think the Rule 5 draft is really exciting. You never know what kind of player has just needed a chance in the big league's to show what kind of talent he really has. I think it not only benefits both the teams and the players but also the entire league by giving these guys another look."
