Whitacre Sizzles with 20-Game Batting Streak Monday, May 4th , 2076 With 1 hit at Miller Park today, Sean Whitacre added another game to his hitting streak -- the Milwaukee first baseman has now hit safely for 20 games in a row. But the hitting feat wasn't enough for the Brewers today, as they fell, 6-1, to the Cincinnati Reds. "Frankly, I don't care about hits," Cincinnati manager BJ Gorman said later. "I'll let him get 4 hits in 4 at-bats if it means we get a win." Sean Whitacre struck out in the 1st, singled in the 4th, flied out in the 6th and flied out in the 8th. This year Whitacre is hitting .319, produced 28 RBIs and 8 home runs, scored 27 times and gotten on base at a .406 rate. |
