AL Awards Player of the Week Monday, July 9th, 2046 22-year-old Bruce Grimes sent shock waves through Major League Baseball last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the American League Player of the Week Award. A newcomer to the league, Grimes made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .500 average, 13 hits in 26 at-bats, 3 home runs and 6 RBI. Where the Tampa Bay Rays first baseman goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Grimes certainly made his mark last week. A look at his season totals shows Grimes with 33 home runs, .312 BA, .380 OBP, 89 RBIs and 70 runs scored. |
