Oakland, Seattle Make Deal Thursday, May 2nd , 2086 The Oakland Athletics and Seattle Mariners have put the finishing touches on a deal that was weeks in the making. Oakland will part with a 6th round draft pick, a 7th round draft pick, a 9th round draft pick, and a 10th round draft pick, while the Mariners have dealt 26-year old minor league 2B Mike Westfall. "This one took a while to figure out," said Oakland general manager Jon Pearson. "We must have gone back to the drawing board five or six times over the past few weeks. I'm glad we finally got the deal done. I think it is a good one for both clubs." In 446 games Westfall has a career .236 batting average and a .321 on-base percentage. He has hit 21 home runs with 140 RBIs and 226 runs scored. |
