Alvarez Picked AL's Top Newcomer Saturday, June 1st , 2086 Youngster Rick Alvarez emerged as the latest American League Rookie of the Month today. The young man from Seattle deserved the honor, batting .358 with 12 home runs and 27 RBI. Is the month of May a harbinger of things to come or just a fluke? We'll find out someday, but for now, we'll just let Alvarez enjoy the limelight. Alvarez is batting .336 with 20 home runs and 43 RBIs this season. |
