Peterson Put in Cooler, Hitless Against Texas
Thursday, April 17th , 2110
The Texas Rangers did something to Casey Peterson no team had done for the last 20 games -- they stopped him, ending his consecutive-game hitting streak. Unfortunately, they couldn't do the same to the Tigers, who came away with the 8-7 victory at Comerica Park.
"Hey, I knew it wasn't going to last forever," the 23-year-old first baseman said of the demise of his streak. "It was a good ride while it lasted."
Peterson is hitting .452 this year with 7 home runs, 12 RBIs and 9 runs scored. He has 14 hits in 31 at-bats, 1 walk and a .485 on-base percentage. Peterson has played in 8 games.
