San Francisco-St. Louis Deal: Chavez for Minto Tuesday, January 11th , 2095 Proving the old adage that one man's trash is another man's treasure, the Giants announced today the acquisition of 23-year old minor league RHP Micah Minto and a 6th round draft pick from the St. Louis Cardinals in exchange for 28-year old LHP Ricardo Chavez. "This isn't the deal of the century," acknowledged the Giants, "but we think it will improve the direction of both teams." Over his career Chavez has put up a 4.91 ERA and fanned 235 hitters in 277 innings. His record stands at 14-21 with 4 saves. |
