Oakland-St. Louis Announce Swap Wednesday, January 15th , 2116 The Oakland Athletics swapped 23-year old minor league CF Tim Henson, 22-year old minor league 2B Ryan Newson, a 1st round draft pick, and a 2nd round draft pick for 28-year old 1B Chad Gutshall of the Cardinals after what St. Louis officials would only characterize as "difficult" negotiations. St. Louis will retain a portion of Gutshall's remaining contract. Gutshall has chalked up a career batting average of .271 with 1026 hits, 246 homers and 695 RBIs. |
