Chicago-Toronto Trade: Bates for Moore Tuesday, February 10th , 2099 In a move that has fans in both cities buzzing, the Chicago White Sox and the Toronto Blue Jays have agreed to a deal that will have 24-year old CF Greg Bates and a 6th round draft pick heading to Toronto in exchange for 31-year old SS Brian Jones, 28-year old LHP Domingo Tamayo, 23-year old LHP Curtis Moore, and 22-year old minor league RHP Josh Montgomery. Provided they pass a physical, the players should be with their respective teams in time for tomorrow's games. Toronto will retain a portion of Jones's remaining contract. In his 114-game career Bates is batting .249 with 25 doubles, 7 triples, 12 home runs and 41 RBIs. He has stolen 9 bases and scored 64 times. |
