$5,500,000 Lands 1B Portillo for Dodgers Friday, February 21st, 2059 Los Angeles fans were pleased with the signing of Ruben Portillo today. The 27-year-old inked a 1-year, $5,500,000 deal with the Dodgers. Though his numbers don't jump out at you, Portillo does fill a void for Los Angeles, according to several respected analysts. In his career Portillo has played in 356 games with a .241 batting average. Among his 240 hits are 48 doubles, no triples, and 37 home runs. He also has scored 114 runs, walked 54 times, has no stolen bases and driven in 115 runs. |
