Newberry Wins ATL Player of the Week Honors Monday, July 29th , 2080 27-year-old Neil Newberry sent shock waves through Atlantic League last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Atlantic League Player of the Week Award. A newcomer to the league, Newberry made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .500 average, 13 hits in 26 at-bats, no home runs and 3 runs batted in. Where the Road Warriors catcher goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Newberry certainly made his mark last week. This season Newberry has 5 home runs and a .332 batting average. |
