Garza Super -- No-Hits White Sands Thursday, July 12th , 2068 In a dominant outing, Manny Garza of the Garden City Wind totally silenced the bats of the White Sands Pupfish, finishing with a no-hitter. In the Wind' 8-0 victory, Garza faced only 30 batters, surrendered no hits, had 14 strikeouts and 3 walks. "Honestly, I didn't even know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning," Garden City manager Efrain Negron said. "I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had gotten, and I happened to notice that they hadn't gotten any." Commenting on the defeat, losing manager Brooks Gleason had a "pretty simple" analysis of the game. "The Wind had all the hits and all the runs, so they won," he snapped. "But yeah, Garza pitched a heck of a ballgame." For the season Garza has logged 3 wins and 1 loss and struck out 94 batters in 67 innings while compiling a 3.49 ERA. |
