3-HR Dream Game for Lampton Saturday, July 21st , 2068 It was a day for the record books for Tucson Saguaros third baseman Austin Lampton, who walloped three out of Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium against the Pupfish. However, not even a three-homer game could prevent the Pupfish from taking the 21-15 victory. "We threw some good pitches and they hit 'em, and we made some bad pitches and they hit 'em. That's a good strategy for losing ballgames," Tucson skipper David Lambert joked after the loss. Lampton still had a few opportunities to celebrate along the way. He was 5-for-5 for the day, batting in 5 runs and scoring 3 times. "I never, ever thought I would hit three home runs," Lampton said. "I hit three home runs once when I was 12 in Little League and I thought that was going to be the last time." Austin Lampton singled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Jorge Bueno in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Jorge Bueno in the 5th, walked in a run in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Rafael Romo in the 7th and singled in the 8th. Lampton is currently batting .287 with 17 home runs, 48 RBIs and 33 runs scored. He has 51 hits in 178 at-bats. |
