Mono Stretches Hit String to 20

Chris Mono's hitting streak is becoming the talk of Garden City. The 24-year-old left fielder extended it once again today, this time bringing it to 20 games with a 2-for-5 performance against the Santa Fe Fuego. The Wind took the game, 10-2.
"People are starting to bring it up to me when I'm around town," he said. "It's getting stressful." Chris Mono flied out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Armando Ferrera in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, doubled in the 8th and flied out in the 9th.
Mono has a .361 average and a .462 on-base percentage for the year. He has picked up 70 hits, 27 home runs and driven in 58 runs.
