Berlini Twirls 4-0 Shutout
Wednesday, August 3rd, 2067
All went well for Danny Berlini of the Santa Cruz Seaweed as he pitched his team to a 4-0 shutout victory over the White Sands Pupfish, limiting them to 5 hits. In the postgame interview, both managers had glowing things to say about Berlini on the day.
"Danny's got a good selection of pitches he can throw at a guy," said Seaweed manager Mike Axelson. "He changes speed, gives different looks to different hitters. When he's on his game, he's quite a handful."
In the contest, the Santa Cruz right-hander rang up 12 and surrendered no walks.
"He didn't give us any second chances," said Pupfish manager Art Fredrick. "It's a guessing game with him and today we were always guessing wrong."
To date this year, Berlini shows a 5-1 record, 7 starts, 51 innings, 74 strikeouts and a 2.47 ERA.
