Manager JAnchez Purged by Martinez Saturday, August 20th, 2067 All is not well in Martinez. Marco JAnchez's tenure as the Mackerel skipper might end up being remembered more for a memorable exit than for anything he accomplished on the baseball diamond. JAnchez was fired as the manager of the Martinez Mackerel today and didn't take the news particularly well. Upon hearing of his termination, JAnchez immediately went to the owner's office, where he laid into the Mackerel primary decision-maker with an expletive-filled tirade behind closed doors. "He called me most every name in the book. It wasn't pretty," said Martinez owner Willie Paulino. "I'd say Marco was simply reacting in the heat of the moment. Overall though, I would have preferred a classier exit." After his verbal ambush of the team owner, JAnchez stormed out of the stadium and was not immediately available for comment. Club officials have scheduled a meeting tomorrow to appoint an interim manager and begin the search for JAnchez's replacement. |
