Ron Self Out for Season
Thursday, August 2nd , 2068
Vallejo shortstop Ron Self could miss the remainder of the season because of a severely strained hip muscle. He exited yesterday's California game after injuring himself while running the bases. The original diagnosis said Self would be out 4-5 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."

Looking at his season stats, Self has compiled a .230 batting average and a .307 on-base percentage, while hitting 2 home runs and driving in 14 runs.
