It's Over! Sonoma Defeats Napa Sunday, September 2nd , 2068 It's party time in Sonoma. The confetti is flying and residents are smiling. The Sonoma Stompers have reached the mountaintop, capturing the 2068 Round 1 today. They defeated the Napa Silverados 4-3 at Peoples Home Equity Ballpark at Arnold Field to officially wrap up the series 4-1. Asked how it feels to be champion, center fielder Alejandro Hernandez was to the point. "It feels great, like a million bucks. I'm so happy right now, not just for me but for all the guys," he said. "We put a lot of work into this and deserve to be champions." The team is planning a victory parade and fan appreciation day later in the week. Sonoma finished the regular season 43-38 and claimed second place in the Pacific Association. |
