Straub Snags EPBL Batting Honor in July Wednesday, August 1st , 2068 Free agent-to-be Mark Straub has inflated his asking price over the past 30 days by winning the Empire Professional Baseball League Batter of the Month. In July, the 29-year-old Georgia first baseman hit .303 with 9 home runs and 15 RBIs. If he keeps putting numbers like that up, he could be hauling in a big wad of cash at this time next year. In 37 games this season Straub has compiled a .261 batting average with 37 hits and 12 home runs. He has also scored 23 times and knocked in 21 runs. |
