EPBL's Star Player Named Monday, August 27th , 2068 Tupper Lake RiverPigs third baseman Carlos Covarrubias rose above the controversy surrounding his soon-to-expire contract, thriving under pressure last week and copping the Player of the Week award in the Empire Professional Baseball League. Covarrubias put up a .429 batting average (12-for-28) with 5 home runs, 9 RBIs and scored 7 times. Thus far this year Covarrubias is hitting .269 with 9 home runs, 22 RBIs and 24 runs scored. |
