Scavone Grabs EPBL Top Pitcher Trophy Saturday, September 1st , 2068 The top-rated pitcher this past month in the Empire Professional Baseball League was Steve Scavone of the Puerto Rico Islanders. He really dominated league hitters, finishing August with a 3-0 won-lost mark and a 1.33 ERA. The Islanders ace made 5 starts and surrendered 14 hits in 27 innings. He struck out 34 and walked 11.
