Heine Strokes 5 Hits Monday, June 20th, 2067 5 hits in a game is a rare thing, but Portland's Alec Heine made it happen today against the Herons. Everything came together at the plate for the 26-year-old first baseman as he collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats -- and led the Walruses to a 18-0 win at Herons Stadium. "I'm just out there to try and help the team win," Heine said after the game, "I had some real good at-bats today. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em." Alec Heine doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI triple in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, doubled in the 5th, walked in the 6th, hit a two-run double in the 8th and walked in a run in the 9th. This season Heine has banged out 40 hits in 122 at-bats for a .328 average with 12 home runs. He is getting on base at a .394 pace and his totals also include 34 RBIs and 22 runs scored. |
