SeaWolves Come Back Late to Clip Flying Squirrels
Opening day festivities have begun throughout the league. Fans of the Richmond Flying Squirrels were eager to watch Franklin Diaz square off against Bryan Curry of the visiting Erie SeaWolves. In the end, the SeaWolves won the game, 2-1, with Bryan Curry leading the way. Erie pitcher Joey Amaya got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Charlie Fleet got the loss.

Erie needed the clutch hitting of Ricardo Meza to notch the win. The first baseman hammered a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the SeaWolves on top, 2-1. For the game, Meza had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Richmond manager Matt Bent. "The effort was great."
