South Bend Cubs starter Chris Herrera turned in a sparkling performance against the West Michigan Whitecaps, leading his team to a 3-2 win. With the win, South Bend has a record of 60-61. West Michigan falls to 67-53.
Carlos Diaz had a direct impact on the outcome. Diaz contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put South Bend up, 3-2.
