3-2 Hot Rods Win over Loons Evens Season Record
|
Starting pitcher Bill Cummings had a solid game. He was a big reason the Bowling Green Hot Rods throttled the Great Lakes Loons, 3-2. In 6.1 innings, Cummings surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 3. He allowed 2 runs. Joey Crawford was called on to finish, recording his 8th save.
Bowling Green used the clutch hitting of Joe Rogers to snag the win. The first baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Hot Rods ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"Bill -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Hot Rods manager Ernesto Torre. "He was the key to us winning."
The 4th-place Hot Rods go to 61-61.
