Lugnuts Lose By a Run at Dayton
|
Dayton starter Donovan Gordon pitched well against the Lansing Lugnuts at Fifth Third Field. The right-hander led his team to a win, 6-5. The win was credited to fireballing right-hander Elijah Rouse in relief. His record improves to 4-2. Chris Daniels took the loss. The Dragons go to 57-65, putting them 6th in the Eastern Division.
Steven Lucich had a big bases-clearing double for the Dragons in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Dayton leading 3-2 and the bases loaded, he got a cutter from Miles Glass, who is tied for 9th in the MID in saves with 12, and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 12th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Dragons ahead, 6-2.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Gordon said.
