Chiefs Top Timber Rattlers, 7-5
|
Fans who congregated at Neuroscience Feild at Fox Cities Stadium were treated to extra-inning drama.
Josh DuTremble did all he could to help his team prevail. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers from losing the game, 7-5, to the Peoria Chiefs in 10 innings at Neuroscience Feild at Fox Cities Stadium. DuTremble went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Peoria reliever Alex Casillas picked up the win to move to 2-2. Tuomi Roine suffered the loss. Nigel Amos earned the save, his 1st.
Peoria used the timely hitting of Antonio Peguero to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Chiefs on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Big win," said Peguero.
The Chiefs, at 79-42, sit in first place in the Western Division.
