Dragons Reel In 6-2 Win
|
Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Dayton Dragons and Lansing Lugnuts.
The Dayton Dragons beat the Lansing Lugnuts, 6-2. Dayton pitcher and Piqua, Ohio, native Jack McDowell led the way. The 6th-place Dragons lifted their record to 58-65.
Ismael Ortega had a big bases-clearing double for the Dragons in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Dayton leading 3-2 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Miles Glass, who is tied for 9th in the MID in saves with 12, and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 5th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Dragons ahead, 6-2.
Dayton manager Jorge Rosado was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard," he said.
