Peoria Tumbles Again, Falls, 6-5, to Cedar Rapids
The Cedar Rapids Kernels defeated the Peoria Chiefs, 6-5, at Veterans Memorial Stadium. Bryce Adams was a standout performer for Cedar Rapids. His 3 hits included 2 singles and 1 double -- this in addition to the 1 run he scored and 1 he knocked in. Cedar Rapids reliever Willie Rivera snagged the win, upping his record to 1-0. Joe Stratton shouldered the loss. The loss makes Peoria 64-59.

In the bottom of the fourth, Cedar Rapids catcher David Cook had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Cook stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 6-3, Cedar Rapids. For the game, he went 2-5 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Peoria manager Tommy Davenport.
