Quad Cities and Cedar Rapids duked it out and the River Bandits came out victorious.

Luis Castillo, who is tied for 3rd in the MID in strikeouts with 170, had a strong outing for the Quad Cities River Bandits against the Cedar Rapids Kernels at Modern Woodmen Park. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 3-0 win. Castillo picked up the win for Quad Cities, going 6 innings. He gave up no runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 10-11. Rich Liverman picked up his 15th save of the season.

Making an impact for the home team was Kyle Denny. In the bottom of the fourth, the 24-year old catcher had a run-scoring walk. That made the score 2-0, River Bandits.

"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Denny.

The River Bandits saw their record improve to 54-70.
