The Lake County Captains got a superb performance from pitcher Sean Gillispie, but the Great Lakes Loons still won the game, 4-3. Gillispie threw 5.2 innings allowing 3 runs. Jeff Gifford picked up the win, lifting his record to 2-1 on the season. He struck out 7 and walked 2 in 5.1 innings, while yielding 3 runs. Getting the save was Alfonso Silva, his 7th.

Tim Gilmore had a direct impact on the outcome. Gilmore contributed a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put Great Lakes up, 4-1.
