Cubs Get 8-2 Win Versus Fort Wayne
The South Bend Cubs outclassed the Fort Wayne TinCaps, 8-2, at Four Winds Field at Coveleski Stadium. Wilson Ruiz, who is tied for 4th in the MID in home runs with 14, was a major contributor for South Bend. Ruiz was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The first-place Cubs lifted their record to 84-40.

Travis Pass, the South Bend center fielder, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth inning to make the score 4-2, Cubs. For the game, Pass was 3-5 with 3 singles.

"We're in a little funk right now and we've just got to get ourselves out of it," said Fort Wayne manager Michael Chiquito.
