Alex Molina pitched a dandy of a game to help the Quad Cities River Bandits beat the Cedar Rapids Kernels, 3-1. Molina picked up the win for Quad Cities, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 8 hits. He now sports a record of 1-3. The defeat makes Cedar Rapids 53-73.
The River Bandits got a big at-bat from left fielder Jeff Reed. For the game, Reed went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Quad Cities a 2-0 lead.
"I thought we competed really well," said River Bandits manager Maxwell Judson. "I thought the energy was really good."
