Lake County starter Josh Marchisello pitched well against the Lansing Lugnuts at Cooley Law School Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a win, 3-1. Matt Scott notched his 14th save in 16 chances. Lake County has now won 4 in a row.

Lake County used a timely hit from Josh Gillard to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Captains ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"Scoring runs is scoring runs," said Lake County skipper Jorge Ventura. "It's important to have different ways to do it."
