Snappers Drop River Bandits, 6-2
|
Beloit Snappers starter Jim Templeman kept the Quad Cities River Bandits hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 6-2 win. Templeman picked up the win for Beloit, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 9-10. The Snappers improved to 54-73.
Beloit used the timely hitting of Matt Rowan to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Snappers on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I was hoping to make good contact," said Rowan. "I wasn't trying to knock the snot out of it."
